Domestic travel insurance

Australia is a wonderful place to explore and while Medicare will cover you for medical expenses, you might still want to have cover for the unexpected. Things like accommodation for your loved ones should you need to stay in hospital away from home or cover for cancellation costs.

We offer two levels of domestic travel insurance:

  • Domestic Premium
  • Domestic Cancellation

Domestic Premium

This is our most comprehensive domestic policy and includes the following cover.

Benefit Benefit Level Benefit Description
Additional expenses $10,000 Cover for unexpected travel costs such as when:
  • a doctor says you’re too sick to travel
  • you need to return home because a relative in Australia suddenly falls ill
  • your transport is disrupted due to a strike, riot or civil commotion
Amendment or Cancellation $You Choose^ Cover for trip amendments or cancellation if an unexpected event occurs, such as:
  • you’re sick or injured and can no longer travel
  • a relative in Australia is sick
Luggage and travel documents $6,000

Cover is included (limit per item*) for lost, stolen or damaged personal belongings, including:

  • phone or smart watch—up to $1,000
  • camera or video camera—up to $3,500
  • laptop computers—up to $3,000
  • tablet computers—up to $3,000
  • drone (with or without camera) - $1,000
  • artificial limb, removable dental appliance, dentures or medical device e.g. hearing aids, CPAP machine - $1,000
  • jewellery, watch or any other items—up to $1,000

Rental car insurance excess

 

Bonus cover for personal vehicle excess

If your vehicle is stolen or damaged there’s cover for the excess you’re required to pay.
Travel delay $750 If your travel is delayed for at least 6 hours by an unexpected event outside your control, there’s cover for additional costs in accommodation (sub-limits apply).

Domestic Cancellation

If you only want to protect your deposits or other outlays, you can choose our Domestic Cancellation product. This allows you to choose your own level of cancellation cover should something unexpected happen and you can no longer take your tip.

The cover $You Choose^ will apply per policy and is a combined limit for -
